Out of responsibility towards the environment and society, the Deutschlandhaus was realised in strict compliance with the quality requirements of the United States Green Building Council USGBC. The Deutschlandhaus is certified in the ‘Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design LEED Gold’ category.

For this classification, attention is paid to the sustainable handling of land and soil, energy and the atmosphere, and materials and resources during the entire realisation phase and beyond. In this context, the preferred use of environmentally friendly building materials is a matter of course. Additionally, great store is set by designing the interior spaces to be resource-friendly and to promote health.
